Thomas Kowalski, PT, DPT
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Tom is a 2012 graduate of D’Youville College, where he earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has over 6 years of experience working in private practice outpatient orthopedic settings. He believes in a hands on approach utilizing manual treatment in conjunction with functional exercises to successfully rehabilitate people in need. He has completed advanced coursework in Spinal Manipulation, Functional Approach to Exercise, and Kinesiology Taping and Application.
Tom’s passion for helping others inspired him to open Core Physical Therapy in January of 2017. His main goal is to provide a new standard of care for his clients. His core belief is providing quality physical therapy services to each and every patient, in a one on one setting. He takes the time to listen and develop individually tailored treatment plans specifically focused on each clients personal goals. While in the clinic, Tom believes in spending time focusing on things that patients cannot do on their own. His treatments are centered around highly skilled manual interventions, that are followed up with functional exercises and patient education.
In his free time, Tom’s hobbies include working out and staying active. He is a big Bills fan and enjoys playing, watching, and talking about sports. He also loves spending time with his wife Brittany and their labradoodle, Mia.
Taylor Simmons, PT, DPT
Taylor is originally from Richmond, VA. She earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from the
University of South Carolina. She then went to Mary Baldwin University and earned her Doctor
of Physical Therapy degree. She comes to us with 3 years of experience in outpatient
orthopedics with her last 2 years at OrthoCarolina in Rock Hill. She is passionate about utilizing
exercise and manual techniques to help people get back to what they enjoy most. Taylor has
completed advanced coursework in Kinesiology Taping and Application and Running Gait
Taylor is dedicated to providing high quality one-on-one care to each and every patient. She
focuses on tailoring each and every session to the patient’s needs in order to get the patient
back to fully participating in the activities he or she enjoys most. Taylor also ensures that every
patient leaves with a smile on their face, doing her best to make physical therapy a fun and
In her free time, Taylor is an indoor cycle instructor at Hive Fitness in Charlotte, NC. She also
enjoys spending time with her husband, Sam, and their rescue dogs, Coach and Ralphie.
Taylor’s hobbies also include working out, being outdoors, watching sports, traveling, and
playing golf and lacrosse.
